see it everywhere

Seguir receita tal

A receita cultural

Do marido, da família

Cuida, cuida da rotina

Só mesmo, rejeita

Bem conhecida receita

Quem não sem dores

Aceita que tudo deve mudar

Que um homem não te define

Sua casa não te define

Você é seu próprio lar

Um homem não te define

Sua casa não te define

 (você é seu próprio lar)

Ela desatinou, desatou nós

Vai viver só

Eu não me vejo na palavra

Fêmea, alvo de caça

Conformada vítima

Prefiro queimar o mapa

Traçar de novo a estrada

Ver cores nas cinzas

E a vida reinventar

E um homem não me define

Minha casa não me define

Obra:

Kaur's chosen poem reminds us of the beauty within each of us, even if we can't see it easily. And the song chosen speaks exactly about the internal struggle of the woman who seeks her construction, strength and beauty.
The song also emphasizes machismo, which puts her in a position of fragility, but finds the strength to free herself and recognize herself as a strong and independent woman. The music takes up that there is beauty not only in appearance, but in the courage to face one's own fears and limits.
Considering Kaur's poem, we brought a mural of women who help us day by day in the construction and perception of women that we are and can become.
Beauty that exists in our essence, regardless of what we say or think.

(Rupi Kaur)

Intertexto:

Como diz neste trecho da musica: ‘’ No matter how I think we grow, You always seem to let me know, It ain't workin', It ain't workin' (no, it ain't workin')’’

Ex factor (Lauryn Hill)

It could all be so simple
But you'd rather make it hard
Loving you is like a battle
And we both end up with scars
Tell me, who I have to be
To get some reciprocity
No one loves you more than me
And no one ever will

Is this just a silly game
That forces you to act this way?
Forces you to scream my name
Then pretend that you can't stay
Tell me, who I have to be
To get some reciprocity
No one loves you more than me
And no one ever will

No matter how I think we grow
You always seem to let me know
It ain't workin', It ain't workin' (no, it ain't workin')
And when I try to walk away
You'd hurt yourself to make me stay
This is crazy, this is crazy (this is crazy, uh-huh!)

I keep letting you back in
How can I explain myself?
As painful as this thing has been
I just can't be with no one else
See I know what we've got to do
You let go, and I'll let go too
'Cause no one's hurt me more than you
And no one ever will

No matter how I think we grow
You always seem to let me know
It ain't workin', It ain't workin' (it ain't workin'!)
And when I try to walk away
You'd hurt yourself to make me stay
This is crazy, this is crazy

Care for me, care for me!
I know you care for me!

There for me, there for me!
Said you'd be there for me!

Cry for me, cry for me!
You said you'd die for me!

Give to me, give to me!
Why won't you live for me?!

Com isso, escrevi um poema.

Distantes

Intertexto:

The book Milk and Honey written by Rupi Kaur it's a book that has four chapters of personal and touching poems. Shared in this four chapters, the author tell us about violence, family and feminility. For each reader, one of this topics may be more personal, but for me, a black woman, the parts that I felt more sensitive were the ones that Rupi tell us about the troubles and challenges of being a women, and in her case, an indian women. Her problems with the standard of beauty in this poem talks a lot about how the women who are not in this standard feels. In the song "Brown Skin Girl", that belong to the album called "The Lion King", Beyoncé talks about the black beauty, and how we glow and how we are beautiful and unique, valuing our skin color, our hair and bodies. This book and this music are crucial for us, women that are not in what some people call beauty standard, because this kind of work tell us that we are beautiful, and that we have do value ourselves, because not being in this beauty standard means nothing.

Thinking about how often people tells us that we are not beautiful, I took some photos of myself to show that even if some people say that we are not pretty because we are not in some beauty standard, we still rock!!!

Poema Escolhido:

Intertexto:

Father, I wanna say thank you
Even if I'm still hurt
Oh, I wanna say bless you
I wanna mean those words

Always wished you the best
I, I prayed for your peace
Even if you started this
This whole war in me

You did your best or did you?
Sometimes I think I hate you
I'm sorry, dad, for feelin' this
I can't believe I'm sayin' it

I know you were a troubled man
I know you never got the chance
To be yourself, to be your best
I hope that heaven's given you
A second chance

Father, I'm gonna say thank you
Even if I don't understand
Oh, you left us alone
I guess that made me who I am

Always wished you the best
I, I pray for your peace
Even if you started this
This whole war in me

You did your best or did you?
Sometimes I think I hate you
I'm sorry, dad, for feelin' this
I can't believe I'm sayin' it

I know you were a troubled man
I know you never got the chance
To be yourself, to be your best
I hope that heaven's given you

Sometimes I think I hate you
I'm sorry, dad, for feelin' this
I can't believe I'm sayin' it

I know you were a troubled man
I know you never got the chance
To be yourself, to be your best
I hope that heaven's given you
A second chance

Lose you to Love Me - Júlia Galvão

capa do livro

My intertext is found in two irrefutable facts: the bodys' woman to be recreative use and her period.  Although the poem speaks the period like something "ugly" compared to the vulva, my intertext won't use her like ungraceful and 1'll do like a award to  e sim como um prêmio ao blessed that betrothed a lady and her menarche. After reading the poem, i remembered Pombinha. Character book O Cortiço by Aluisio de Azevedo. Book of brazilian naturlism, published in 1890 that portrays the rotine of residents of a tenemnet in Rio de Janeiro.

Pombinha was a girl (...) that depended her menarch to get married with João da Costa. And it is came later than normal, making the girl to wait for long years to give yourself in married. Well, this was her plan first.

In "apparently it is ungraceful of me to menton my period in public" i assimilate to the ashmaid of Pombinha before socity with delay her period. Some people theorize that her psicologic, to live with the men of tenement, she ends up not ovulating for don't to married with the men of the same category.

In " the recreational use of this body is seen as beautiful" Pombinha, after following the Leocádia and Rita Baiana's advices, abandoned the fool João and become the owner of  her body. Doing whatever she wanted with who she wanted.

The period/vinginity shouln't be the shame and much less a award. Who will say, a titule.

i pointed at her swollen belly confused at how

my mother had gotten so big in such little time

my father scooped me in his tree trunk arms and

said the closest thing to god on this earth

is a woman’s body it’s where life comes from

and to have a grown man tell me something

so powerful at such a young age

changed me to see the entire universe

rested at my mother’s feet

to understand

how someone can

pour their entire soul

blood and energy

O Que é o Amor?

Maria Rita

Me fez renascer

Me fez despertar

Me disseram uma vez

Que o danado do amor

Pode ser fatal

Dor sem ter remédio pra curar

Me disseram também

Essas palavras ressoam e traçam paralelos entre o poema "I thank the universe" e a letra da música "What if?: orchestra, choir and piano" do filme "Evangelion 3.0+1.0".

What if we just hadn't said goodbye?
(E se simplesmente não tivéssemos dito adeus?)
Would your love now have been as good as mine?

Of all the affections that consume us, perhaps the most surreptitious, as old as the existence of good and evil.

After all, being proud of you doesn't mean stopping me from wanting to be in your place.
