  6º semestre (diurno)

it is your blood

in my veins

tell me how i’m

supposed to forget;

do capítulo the breaking,

i am losing parts of you like i lose eyelashes

unknowingly and everywhere.

Memories are flickering on my mind

I blow them up and they come back alive

We made an oath and you broke it up not to coming this night

I can’t even staring at your face so I started to cry

I am all alone dancing with your ghost

like a river, tears down my face

“It is your blood in my vein

tell me how I’m supposed to forget”

                                              I whispered. Please stay!

but “I am losing parts of you like I lose eye-lashes

 unknowingly and every everywhere”

I cannot be with you and be here at the same time

Living is for the strongest one

and I wasn’t built to be this tough

Life is a kaleidoscope of death, grief and love

Sometimes seems like I had it enough

You used to say that pain it’s part of life

and that we got a brain to think at the lottery’s God

but I think we all are cursed because of these thoughts

They make me remember you are not here anymore

                                            Existence…

That’s why all are here for

Even when I miss your remembrance

‘cause I know we will meet again

                                             in the moonlight rain

Poema Escolhido:

Amy Winehouse – Wake Up Alone

It's okay in the day, I'm staying busy
Tied up enough so I don't have to wonder where is he
Got so sick of crying, so just lately
When I catch myself, I do a 180
I stay up, clean the house, at least I'm not drinking
Run around just so I don't have to think about thinking
That silent sense of content that everyone gets
Just disappears soon as the sun sets
He's fierce in my dreams, seizes my guts
He floods me with dread
Soaked in soul, he swims in my eyes by the bed
Pour myself over him, moon spilling in
And I wake up alone
If I was my heart I'd rather be restless
The second I stop the sleep catches up and I'm breathless
As this ache in my chest, as my day is done now
The dark covers me and I cannot run now
My blood running cold, I stand before him
It's all I can do to assure him
When he comes to me, I drip for him tonight
Drowned in me, we bathe under blue light
His face in my dreams seizes my guts
He floods me with dread
Soaked in soul, he swims in my eyes by the bed
Pour myself over him, moon spilling in
And I wake up alone
And I wake up alone

Obra autoral:

Poema escolhido:

Even after the hurt

The loss

The pain

The breaking

Your body is still

The only one

I want to be

Undressed under

Intertexto:

When I was reading Milk and Honey and saw this poem, I remembered a song by Selena Gomez that I really like called “Back to you”. In the poem the writer says that even after all the pain that the person has brought to her, she didn´t want anyone else other than the one who hurt her, just like in the part of the song that I chose, where the singer states that the person could break her heart in two, that even she should still in love with.

Back to you

Selena Gomez

Took you like a shot

Thought that I could chase you with the cold evening

Let a couple years water down how I’m feeling about you

And every time we talk

Every single word builds up to this moment

And I gotta convince myself I don’t want it even though I do

You could break my heart in two

But when it heals, it beats for you

I know it’s foward, but it’s true

My production is a poem that I wrote which brings doubt and guilty for still loving someone who hurt you. It’s called Void.

Void

Could I judge myself for missing you?

even knowing you were the one who chose to go

how many nights have I found myself thinking

if everything was different...

if I were different.

Would you have chosen to stay?

Do you still remeber me?

‘cause I remembered all the promises you made to me

and what that hurts the most

is waiting them to be  fulfilled

I thought I’d win something by letting you go

I won the void.

A poem from “Milk and Honey” by Rupi Kaur

You are in the habit

of co-depending

on people to

make up for what

you think you lack

Who tricked you

into believing

another person

was meant to complete you

when the most they can do is complement

Intertextuality: The moment I read this poem, I thought of a line from a song by one of my favorite singers. Singer SZA wrote a song called Blind, in which she says she's ashamed that she can't see that all the things she needs are inside her, all the love she needs is inside her, that she's blind. I see this relationship between the poem and this verse, where the person referred to in the poem is also blind, everything she needs is inside her and she doesn't need anyone's validation to feel good about herself, she completes herself the others only complement.

Blind by SZA

Niggas want me to get ratchet

Niggas want me to attack it

Put the hood on, now they callin' me Cassius

Raunchy like Bob Saget

Greedy, I can't pass it

Eatin' everything, nigga, no fasting

I don't care how much you knew me in the past tense

I ain't no Julia Stiles, this ain't no last dance, way past it

Way

Fuckin' on my ex 'cause he validate me

Fuckin' up a check, I don't want no receipt

Might get possessed, let my spirit speak freely

Hey, my past can't escape me

My pussy precedes me

My, my, how the times change

I'm still playin' the victim

And you still playin' the pick-me

It's so embarrassing

All of the things I need living inside of me

I can't see it

It's so embarrassing

All of the love I seek living inside of me

I can't see, I'm blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

You ain't getting your bitch back

Calm down, shit could be worse, never say that

I don't wanna pipe down, rather get payback

Mama told me, "Never shit where you lay at"

I don't want righteousness

I hurt too much, I lost too much, I lust too much

I hit my clutch and vroom

Third day, pop out the tomb

I like when you pull your gun at the red light

I like all that violence, give me dysfunction

I like when you come, never stay the whole night

Better when you high, never tell me I'm wrong

'Cause my past can't escape me

My pussy precedes me

My, my, how the times change

You still talkin' 'bout babies

And I'm still taking the Plan B

It's so embarrassing

All of the things I need living inside of me

I can't see it

It's so embarrassing

All of the love I seek living inside of me

I can't see, I'm blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

Blind, blind

Inspired by the intertextuality of these two works, I wrote a poem that expresses a real and personal feeling of a real moment in my life.

Nice to meet you by Raicia

it sucks

It hurts

it's messy

very messy

and it's an incredibly slow process

sometimes torturously

others in a very necessary way

and i'm excited to focus on me

to be my focus

It will be terrible and wonderful to heal.

poema escolhido:

most importantly love

like it's The only you know how

at the end of the day all this

mens nothing

this page

where you' re siting

your degree

your job

the money

nothing even matters

except love and humam connection

who you loved

and how deeply you loved them

how you tauched the people around you

and how much you gave them

intertextualidade:

When I read the poem “The healing” written by Rupi Kaur, I chose specifically the poem from the page 262 because I identified myself with the main information I got from there. The poem brings to light that the act of loving is something much more important than everything we conquer in earth during our existence. The writer Rupi Kaur, affirms that titles, social status and assets doesn’t have magnitude, the most important thing is the feeling of love, mainly when we show this feeling to the ones we love! Also, this intensity of showing constantly this true and pure feeling.

We can find something very similar in I Corinthians, Chapter 13 verse 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 13 from the Bible, it is easy to noticed an intertextuality relation with the poem “The healing”, because the theme of the last verse is the love, and mentioned as a perfect virtue and lasting, the fact that matters in our very short life. We can noticed some comparisons of enhancement of love in both texts.

Intertext between Rupi Kaur & Pablo Neruda

Intertext: This poem by Rupi Kaur reminds me about one of my favorite authors, Pablo Neruda. I like him and I also liked the Rupi's poem because both remind me about how love is pleasurable and how good is to be loved.

o tempo

a vida

a morte

Both poems relate to the fact that they all focus on an intense love, in which the authors take advantage of feeling and they're delighted with the capacity they have to love.

My production relates to the texts chosen in the love section. The authors declare their feelings for loved ones, which inspired me to draw on the story of the main poem. Besides, having a love that made all the others irrelevant inspired me even more in chosing the poem and to make the production.
