Poema escolhido:
My name sounds so good
French kissing your tongue
Intertexto:
Reading this poem, we started thinking about the essence of a name in a language, and how it can be modified by our feelings towards the person represented by that name. We related this poem with a poem that Pedro wrote a long time ago, about the resonance of the loved person’s name within the one that loves. In many languages, words that signify language are also the ones that signify tongue (for example, “língua” in Portuguese or “язык” in Russian). With this in mind, we decided to write another poem, based on both the poem from Milk and Honey, by Rupi Kaur, and the poem written by Pedro.
The poem is, in essence, about how some words are more important than others, especially when it’s the name of the person we love.
The poem we used to establish the intertext is:
“Seu nome chega no meu ouvido
Que nem uma serpente
Esse som
Nesse tom próprio
Ecoa em mim
E dança
Entro em transe:
Só existe você nesse nome”
-Pedro Tavares
Produção Artística:
I know very few words:
Even fewer,
Just one
I’m really glad
That on the tip of my tongue
There is and always will be
You
